Wednesday, 7th January 2009:
Today is a first class of Fundamental of Computer Science or known as CSC119 with a new lecturer, Abd Malik Mohd Rick. The first thing that we do as a student of Diploma in Computer Science in this class is introduce ourselves. Each of us has to tell our name, place origin, and previous school to Sir Malik. He also asks us one by one and tell him what we want to be in the future. Most of us want to be a Programmer. After the introduction session, Sir Malik begin to teach a Chapter 1 of this subject that we refer to Computing Essentials textbook. We are listen to what he explains about five parts of Information System, types of software, four types of computer and microcomputers, different types of computer hardware, data, connectivity, wireless revolution and internet using Powerpoint presentation.
After that, we are divided into two person per group and have to complete the Crossword Puzzle, task given by Sir Malik after finish explained about Chapter 1. Then, he give us the assignments. First assignment is we have to make a blog and write about Summary of Classes. Second assignment is about Computer Evolution and the third one is History of Internet and Who Own The Internet. We have to find informations about the assignments and the time given to complete this assignments is one week. Sir Malik also give us a 5 questions to be completed at page 24 in Computing Essentials textbook. After our class come to an end, we are pack our belongings and see him for the next class.

Saturday, 24th January 2009:
Today, almost students start to pack their belongings to go back to their hometown to meet their lovely family, so do I. After finished settle my PTPTN loan, my mum and sis fetch me up at 4 p.m. I'm so happy to see them again and hug them tightly after about one month faces everyday in UiTM without them. On the way to go to my home sweet home, my mum surprises me to have dinner in one restaurant. She order my favourite food, kuetiaw goreng and also order blended mocha..before this i haven't taste that mocha and when i eat it, wow! so delicious..a taste of chocolate plus with coffee..After have our dinner, we on the way back to our home and then see my father and my siblings..miss them a lot..
During Chinese New Year celebration, we go to my father's chinese friend house. After eat mandarin oranges and some cookies, we want to go to another house and before we doing that, we especially me and my bro n sis get angpau from them..ofcoz we get the red in ringgit each one..hehe..other than that, my family and I also go to the beach n enjoy ourselves there.
That's all about my holiday along Mid Sem holiday. Although such a simple holiday, but to me, I'm so happy to see them. Just not satisfied with the holiday given coz 1 week only..huh..
Chapter 2-The Internet, the Web and Electronic Commerce.
In this CSC119 class, all the student of CS110 include me meet again with our lecturer, Mr. Malik. In the previous class, we have learned and finished the chapter 1 of Fundamental of Computer Science subject. Today, Mr. Malik going to teach a new chapter that is about the Internet, the Web and Electronic Commerce. In this chapter 2, Mr. Malik teaches us and explain more details about the Internet and Web, Internet access that must use providers and browsers, communication through E-mail, Instant Messaging and Social Networking and search tools using Search Engines, Metasearch Engines, Specialized Search Engines and Content Evaluation. After that, he also attract us to explore the Electronic Commerce that is about business online and also explains to us about Web Utilities. After that, he gives us the assignments about "how a web browsers display a homepage/webpage?" and "how email travel from sender to receiver?". The second question is bonus mark if we do as our addition assignment.
After that, in another class we also learned about Chapter 3-Basic Application Software.

-combine a variety of visual objects to create attractive, visually interesting presentations.
INTEGRATED PACKAGES
-also known as personal or home software
-single program that provides the functionality of several application packages.
SOFTWARE SUITES
-collection of individual application packages sold together.

Other than Chapter 2 and Chapter 3, we also learned with Mr.Malik about Logic Gate and Binary Digit. It’s not hard or difficult to learn binary digit because this topic just consists of 0 and 1 number while logic gate consists of AND Gate, OR Gate, NAND Gate, NOT Gate and exclusive-OR Gate. We need to understand this topic of Logic Gate because each gate has its own function and symbol.
